Our Story

The Eliana Timekeeper is a boutique ladies watch company founded in 2019 by Sherrie Han. Based in Singapore, it is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of premium ladies’ mechanical timepieces by incorporating traditions typically associated with men’s watches, and working with the same suppliers as luxury brands.

But how did we get here?

Sherrie grew up wearing watches everyday and in her twenties, she was dismantling mechanical watches and making one-off timepieces with parts she found. She was frustrated that she could not find a beautiful, sophisticated watch that she liked (or could afford as a young professional). Unlike the diversity and craftsmanship found in the mens’ luxury watch market, most ladies’ watches featured cheap quartz mechanisms, or mechanical watches that were either chunky and masculine or overly-decorated.

“I spoke to some watch-industry insiders and asked them why it was so difficult to find a nice and affordable ladies’ mechanical watch and they all told me the same thing - there was no market for ladies mechanical watches”, said Sherrie. A quick market survey also revealed the perception that most ladies only liked quartz watches that “looked pretty”.

Sherrie disagreed. She thought that watchmakers could do better - and that discerning modern women are no longer content to settle for watches that are mere accessories.

And so in 2019, Sherrie set up The Eliana Timekeeper - a boutique watch company dedicated to design unique and beautiful watches for the modern woman, based on three design principles:

First, each Eliana Timekeeper involves a new dimension of uniqueness and beauty. By incorporating traditions typically associated with mens’ premium watchmaking, and by experimenting with new materials and designs, these timepieces are intended to change the way ladies wear and think about watches.

Second, the timepieces are luxurious and boardroom-ready - yet affordable. By designing watches from scratch, partnering with the same suppliers as luxury watch brands, and focusing on e-commerce, The Eliana Timekeeper is able to build high quality watches via a simplified supply chain, with cost-savings passed on to the consumer. Sherrie personally oversees the quality control for each watch, and every timepiece is individually numbered.

Third, to Sherrie, a mechanical watch is alive, and reflects the sophistry of the modern women. The satisfaction and beauty of hearing the watch start ticking when the balance wheel is put in place is priceless, while the symmetry, design, reliability and accuracy of the movement gives her much joy.
